Call for Abstracts - Presentation

 The Scientific Committee invites you to submit abstracts for consideration for the Conference. All abstracts will be reviewed by the committee who will grade them for inclusion into either the oral presentations or poster sessions at the Conference.

First Call for Abstracts: 15 September 2014
Call for Abstracts closes: 30 November 2014
Notification of Abstract acceptance: 20 January 2015
Authors Registration deadline 30 March 2015

Abstracts may broadly cover issues of Social Work education, based upon research and/or experiences and developments in teaching. The Scientific Committee welcomes abstracts addressing any of the following themes:
1. Knowledge, skills and values of social work
2. The theory and practice relationship
3. Social work research on practice and education
4. A generic or specialist social work education
5. International dimension in social work education
6. Teaching social work and social work education in time of crisis
7. Challenges and opportunities in developing social work curricula
8. Reflecting on social work teaching methods

AUTHORS INFORMATION

POSTER PRESENTATIONS

In preparing your poster presentation please use the following guidelines:
• Size: 70cm x 100cm - in portrait orientation
• Written in English
• If figures are included, these should be clearly labelled and legible

Please check in with the onsite Secretariat Registration Desk at the Milan Bicocca University when you pick up your registration materials on Monday June 29th, 2015. They will direct you to the poster area for your session.
Posters will be displayed in groups by Session. Your poster session and number can be found by checking the Author index in the Final Program Book booklet.
Authors may begin putting up their posters on Monday, June 29th, 2015 after the registration. You can pick up the supplies you need to fix your poster to the boards from the Registration Desk. Also, check with them if you need further assistance regarding your poster.


Posters will be available for viewing during all registration opening times. We ask that all posters remain on display until after the Final Remarks and Closing Ceremony on Thursday July 2nd, at which time authors may then collect their posters. We strongly suggest that authors be at their posters to discuss their work and answer questions during breaks and lunch on the day of your session.

Printing and transport of the poster is at author’s charge and care.

The Scientific Committee wish to inform authors of the chance to send power point presentation or poster converted into pdf format to the Organizing Secretariat at eassw2015@mvcongressi.it, within June 20th , in order to upload their publication on the web site as integration of abstract already submitted.

ORAL PRESENTATION

In preparing your oral presentation please remember to:

• Include clear objectives
• Have a legitimate study design to investigate the stated objectives
• Discuss valid, substantiated conclusions
• Use clear and comprehensible language
• Create relevant graphs, photos, tables using standard software (OS: windows XP; Software: Microsoft Office Power Point 2000/2003/2007
• Save slide data (.PPT) on a USB flash memory drive (previously checked using your own pc)

NOTE: There is no system for editing the slide in our session rooms.
No Macintosh;
Software available: Windows you are kindly asked to bring Power Point presentation

Receiving the slide data:

Please bring your USB flash drive in the room where your presentation is expected at least 3 hours before the beginning of the relevant session. A stewart/hostess will upload your slide presentation and return your flash drive. The copied slides will be erased after each speech.

Please note it is not possible to use your own pc.

Authors must present themselves to the Chairperson of the session at least 30 minutes before the session starts in order to acquaint themselves with the equipment.

Length of the oral presentations will be a total of 15 minutes and every oral session provides at least 15 minutes for final discussion. Authors are kindly requested to respect the indicate timings. Co- Authors can share the presentation, they just need to respect the indicate timing.
